Welcome to my personal tribute to the Promised Land television series. As a companion to this web site, I am producing a weekly, audio podcast about my experiences working as a movie stand-in throughout many years in the Utah film industry. Please join me for the Memoirs of a Movie Stand-in Podcast. I'll tell you about countless experiences on movie crews, including many, specific stories from Promised Land and Touched by an Angel.
From mid-1996 through mid-1999, I worked as a stand-in on the CBS television program, Promised Land. This show was a spin-off of the series Touched by an Angel. Although Promised Land only ran for three seasons, I consider it a great success. For me, personally, it was one of my most valuable educational experiences. I learned a ton. I met hundreds of amazing people. I traveled throughout Utah and even spent some quality time in Mississippi on a work assignment.

After the series ended, I spent the next four seasons working on the crew of Touched by an Angel. There, I continued to learn about the film and TV business. I met even more individuals who were and are valuable assets in my life. I know that these programs have had lots of fans. So, as a favor to those fans and a tribute to some of my greatest experiences in the entertainment business, I'm pleased to present my warm memories of seven seasons behind-the-scenes at Promised Land and Touched by an Angel.

I've received several inquiries from fans of Promised Land regarding the show's availability on DVD. I'm sorry to say that, so far, the series has not been for sale on any home video format. However, don't despair.

Officially there are 69 episodes of Promised Land . Some of them were crossover shows in which a story that began on Touched by an Angel would conclude on Promised Land . Those crossover stories are part of the "syndicated" run of Touched by an Angel which has been carried on the PAX channel and, currently, on the Hallmark Channel. So, you can still see the Greene family in those shows. Also, the complete third season of Touched by an Angel is currently available on DVD, including the crossover episodes which originally aired on CBS in the 1996-97 season. I don't know of any plans by the Hallmark Channel to run the complete Promised Land series again, but I'll say there's always a chance.
